
Mark is a registered independent financial advisor and is the founder and president of Mark W Nichols CPA CPC. He is also a CPA who has an extensive work and educational background. He has more than seventeen years managing Mark W. Nichols, CPA, PC, a public accounting firm, and over eight years of combined experience in accounting/auditing and taxation with PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, the largest accounting firm in the US. He was also a member of the adjunct faculty at Lesley University's School of Management in Cambridge, where he taught graduate students finance and accounting.
Mark completed the FINRA Series 6, 63, 65 and 66 exams as well as the Massachusetts state Life, Accident and Health exam. In addition, he holds a Masters of Science in Taxation degree, with Distinction (1998) and a Masters in Business Administration degree (1992), both from Bentley University. Furthermore, Mark was appointed to Chairman of the Federal Taxation Committee at the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) in May 2012 to serve a 2-year term. This committee is charged with developing competence and disseminating quality information to members in the area of federal taxation and cooperating with other organizations, including the IRS, in exchanging ideas and making recommendations for improving the taxing process in the public interest. Mark is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
In addition to his professional experience, he also has a strong commitment to teaching and community service. He was appointed to and served on the Finance Committee for the Town of North Andover for four years. This committee was charged with evaluating every article in the Town Warrant that had a financial component and developing a recommendation to be considered at Town Meeting. While at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, he was continuously sought after to teach national training courses. In June 1999, he was appointed to the TLS (Tax Line of Service) Learning Board, which was charged with developing the tax training strategy for the America's theatre. In July 1999, he was appointed to the MMAS (Middle Market Advisory Service) Learning Committee, which was charged with providing guidance on the national training strategy of the MMAS group.
Mark is a strong believer in family and approaches both his professional and personal lives with equal enthusiasm. He and his wife are the proud parents of three beautiful children, and spend many busy weekends attending soccer games, skiing, and taking trips to Lake Winnipesaukee.

Mark has just been appointed by the Pike School, Inc in Andover, MA to serve on its Board of Trustees for a four-year term beginning in July 2014. The responsibility of the Board of Trustees of is to be aware, to the fullest extent possible, of all matters that pertain to the philosophy and goals of The Pike School and to assure that decisions of the Board conform to these stated objectives.
Mark also contiues to serve on The Finance Committee of The Pike School in Andover, MA, which he was appointed to in 2013.
Mark is also Vice Chairman Finance and has been elected to be the Chairman Elect of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA) in Boston, MA. The MSCPA is the state's premiere professional organization with more than 11,000 members in public accounting, industry and business, government and education. Through its advocacy, continuing professional education, peer review, membership, communications and academic and career development departments, the Society provides services that allow its members to learn, connect and prosper in the accounting profession.
